TSL's award-winning PAM2-3G16 now boasts a host of new features and an enhanced user interface. Additions to the latest software release include improved loudness measurement capability, user-assignable input matrix for non-SMPTE channel order, lip sync audio delay capability and improved data reporting.

With loudness measurement and control such an important subject amongst programme creators and broadcasters, TSL has tackled the burgeoning issue of loudness regulation head-on and provided a set of tools which are both relevant and useable, giving constant analysis and instant feedback to engineers and operators alike. PAM2-3G16's new functionality anticipates the EBU and ATSC recommendations and gives the user the power to configure their own target and measurement parameters whilst providing practical solutions for monitoring and reporting such as a time-versus-level histogram and 'over target' alarms.

Another new feature for IBC 2010 is the ability to delay audio outputs (to internal or external loudspeakers) up to 250ms to compensate for video latency in displays and multiviewers. Audio delay settings can be configured on a 'preset' basis so that only sources with associated video are affected. When delaying audio decoded from a Dolby E or AC-3 the PAM2-3G16 auto-compensates for the decoding latency to ensure that the output delay remains constant.

The unique User Assign Matrix is designed for use when embedded audio signals include components such as clean effects and multiple language commentaries. By enabling the user to assign non sequential channels to a user configurable 5.1 bargraph display, complicated multichannel delivery formats can be reconstructed and monitored using standard PAM2-3G16 monitoring functions such as 'Downmix' and 'All'.

TSL's latest addition to its renowned Tally family of products, the TMC-1, is designed for the most demanding applications in complex broadcasting environments where up time must be guaranteed. The unit features all solid state memory, twin Ethernet connectivity, twin hot swappable power supplies, SNMP capability and three user configurable PCI slots.

Based on the established industry favourite, the TM2, the new TM2-PLUS is aimed at meeting the needs of large OB trucks and other demanding applications that require the security of twin PSUs and built in relay outputs.

TSL's MDU12-PMi is a system and energy management solution that provides complete control over - and visibility of - equipment racks, no matter how geographically spread their locations. With power measuring plus remotely switchable outputs the MDU12-PMi plays a central role in the conservation of energy in new broadcast installations.

mdu12pmi-IBC

The MDU12-PMi energy management system provides remote Ethernet control and monitoring of 12 individually switched IEC outputs via secure web browser with SNMP and email alarms for fuse fail, power fail, over/under current alarm and power measurement all alongside 16 GPI inputs. It's sophisticated "Current Sensing" feature monitors the total power consumption or that of individual outlets plus the operating temperature of the rack; providing clear warnings if variables rise above, or fall below, fully programmable limits.
